The Parchowo community is situated 79-80 km from Gdańsk and 70-80 km from Słupsk on the main lines of communication by road between Kartuzy, Kościerzyna and Bytów. There is large number of asphalt roads making car journey very easy to all the villages and sight-seeing attractions. The richness of the forests, the small agricultural villages and the lack of any industry give this place a unique beauty as one the most beautiful and un-polluted regions of Poland. Particulary important is the variety of scenery; numerous lakes and rivers, hills and forests. To complement this a wide variety of plants, animals and birds can be found. There are areas of untouched nature can be discovered. One can find here ineresting geology, archaeological sites and historic buildings including the water power station builit in 1896 - the oldest in Europe still in use.
The traditional rural culture is completely unspolit here. The inhabitants still cook and eat traditional food and speak the old Kashubian language. The Kashubian group MODRAKI performs dances and songs in the old Kashubian way. Visitors to this region are warmly welcomed to share in the cultural life of our people. The community Parchowo has 3500 inhabitants, Parchowo has 880 (about 26 people per 1 km2); services include a post office, health centre, restaurant, church, primary school, fire brigade, club, library, and local council administration office. There are shops in each village.
The visitor can easily discover and enjoy this region by walking or cycling all year round. He or she can sail, row or wind-surf on the lakes, the largest being lake Mausz at 420 ha. The waters of all the lakes are unpolluted and are suitable for swimming. Well known places of unspoilt nature include: a nature reserve of forest and peatbog (214 ha), the "seven Chośnickie lakes", lake Glinowskie with beutiful lobelia plants - very rare in Europe, and Zukowskie where you can still find many species of wild birds.
The nearest town are Bytow - 17 km, Kartuzy - 35 km, and Koscierzyna - 30 km.
